Job summary

Discord is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our Experimentation Platform team. You will ensure robust statistical underpinnings for hundreds of daily experiments and help design studies with high rigor to guide product decisions.

You'll lead causal inference initiatives, educate cross-functional teams, and empower a 50+ member Data Science group with advanced methodologies and training.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing and validating statistical methodologies for experimentation platforms.
• MSc in a quantitative field and 2+ years designing, implementing and analyzing experiments or causal inference projects.
• Ability to evaluate and recommend statistical approaches for experimentation frameworks.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience delivering training programs on experimentation or causal inference.
• Proficient with Python, SQL, R and other statistical languages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and product to improve reliability and scalability of experimentation.
• Provide statistical expertise and ensure sound methodologies and frameworks.
• Lead initiatives to educate cross-functional teams on experimentation design and causal inference.
• Develop workshops and educational materials to promote data-driven decision making.
• Empower a 50+ member Data Science team to apply rigorous causal inference methods.
• Lead and conduct independent causal inference research on Discord priorities.
