Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a Sr. Manager to lead a data science team at the intersection of ML, large language models, and cybersecurity. You will translate business needs into technical objectives, gain stakeholder buy-in, and guide both research and production ML initiatives.

You will work across security research, engineering, and product to align ML with business goals, while mentoring junior and senior data scientists and driving impactful research outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant STEM field.
• 5+ years of data science and ML experience.
• 5+ years in technical leadership or team lead capacity.
• Proven track record of leading ML projects from research to production.
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists with technical guidance and performance management.
• Refine priorities with senior leadership and plan staff/budget milestones.
• Plan and prioritize team roadmaps balancing research and production ML systems.
• Stay current with ML and cybersecurity trends and evaluate new technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align ML capabilities with business objectives.
• Identify opportunities where ML enhances threat detection and response.
• Communicate complex ML concepts to stakeholders across the organization.
• Guide development of advanced models for malware detection and security automation.
• Drive research initiatives resulting in publications, blogs, patents, and contributions to ML/security communities.
• Contribute to hands-on technical work maintaining deep ML/security expertise.
