Job Description: Data Quality Program Lead

Supports executive leadership and Vice Presidents on the Data Quality Stakeholder Council to drive the data quality program across the enterprise. Helps lead and coordinate major initiatives supporting Sentara's strategic goals and enterprise data services. Provides guidance on developing data quality monitoring capabilities, drives data remediation efforts, and improves enterprise data quality. Coordinates with teams including enterprise data services, analytics, and strategic business units to advance data quality initiatives. Plays a key role in developing and administering the enterprise-level program.

Preferred Domain Knowledge

Understanding of data quality lifecycle management, policies, processes, standards, business analysis, project management, data management, catalog and stewardship management, business process flows, data mapping, process improvement, data visualization, analytic programming, database management (including MDM, ETL, storage, cloud computing), and experience with data from electronic medical records, billing, claims, and financial systems. Business acumen in healthcare and health insurance sectors is also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the data governance team to create and utilize documentation such as data mappings, stewardship, critical data elements, quality rules, and data lineages; support implementation in governance and data quality platforms.
• Develop documentation including policies, manuals, standards, and process flows to support data quality initiatives.
• Lead proof-of-concept projects for new data quality features and strategize enterprise rollout.
• Define measures and KPIs to assess the maturity and success of the data quality program.
• Work with SMEs to identify data domains, products, stewards, critical data elements, and quality thresholds.
• Coordinate with data engineers and database administrators to set up data quality monitoring on source systems.
• Monitor data quality reports using tools like Informatica, Tableau, and PowerBI.
• Manage operational support for data quality, including root cause analysis and remediation.
• Lead data stewardship practice rollout, including training and content development.
• Support policy management in collaboration with compliance, privacy, and security teams.
• Participate in data quality council and committee discussions.
• Lead efforts for data quality SharePoint releases.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer & Information Science or Health Information Management (required).
• Master's Degree preferred; 2+ years of experience may substitute.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in healthcare or health plan industry.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server, Databricks, Azure Synapse.
• Experience with data quality platforms like Informatica, SAS Dataflux, etc.
• Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, Azure DevOps.
• At least 5 years in business analysis, project management, or training roles.
• Experience with Service Management and Agile tools for 3+ years.
• Data governance experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Market-competitive pay ranging from $43.95 to $73.26 per hour, with additional incentives such as shift differentials, overtime, and bonuses.
