Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Consultant in Data Protection & Privacy within its Cybersecurity practice to help clients define data protection strategies and implement solutions ensuring data security, privacy and integrity. You will work on high‑value assets, develop classifications, and enable governance across diverse industries.

The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience, willingness to travel up to 60–80%, and a strong foundation in security concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and approximately 2-3 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience.
• Approximately 2-3 years of technical architecture experience integrating data protection software into clients' infrastructure and applications.
• Knowledge of general security concepts and methods such as vulnerability assessments, data classification, privacy assessments, incident response, security policy creation, enterprise security strategies, architectures and governance.
• Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, OSI model), operating systems (Windows, UNIX, mainframe), security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.) and application programming/scripting languages (C, Java, Perl, Shell).
• Demonstrated experience in three or more areas: data leakage, secure messaging, mobile device security, encryption, PKI, data classification, DRM, logging/monitoring, secure information storage

Responsibilities

• Help clients define technical and business requirements for data protection solutions and develop related policies and processes.
• Identify, understand and protect client data throughout the data lifecycle.
• Develop data classification schemes and implement technologies for leading data protection capabilities.
• Oversee engagements from asset identification to implementing protections and governance.
