Job summary

KIPP Foundation is seeking a Data Engineering Lead to create, manage, and optimize data and BI platforms, working with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver robust data solutions. You will drive data architecture, ETL pipelines, and governance to ensure trusted data for reporting and analytics.

The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, sprint planning, and leadership of one or more engineers, with a focus on quality, security, and scalable data systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Experience with SQL-based data platforms and modern cloud data warehouses.
• Experience managing and mentoring data engineers.
• Strong technical proficiency in SQL, Spark, PySpark, and SSIS.
• Experience with Tableau infrastructure (on-prem and cloud).
• Experience with version control and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of data architecture and pipelines, including design and testing strategy.
• Design and operationalize a data quality framework with monitoring and impact analysis.
• Lead BI platform management, updates, and governance for high availability and security.
• Establish capabilities for AI-enabled analytics in BI platforms.
• Collaborate with Analytics, IT Ops, Product, and regional teams to drive plans and execution.
• Lead sprint planning, execution, and delivery, managing dependencies and blockers.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to team members; ensure documentation and knowledge transfer.
