Job summary

PowerToFly is seeking a Senior Lead, Data Engineering to shape enterprise data solutions and drive complex data initiatives in a globally distributed environment. You will influence technical strategy and partner with teams to build scalable, high-impact data products.

You will mentor engineers, establish standards, and design cloud data platforms on Azure using Databricks, Delta Lake, and ADF, ensuring data quality and governance across ERP data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 6+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering, or enterprise data platform development.
• Proven experience architecting scalable cloud-based data platforms in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on with Azure-based data engineering tech (Databricks, Delta Lake, ADF, OSS).
• Strong SQL and Python, with Spark or similar frameworks.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses/lakehouses.
• Experience integrating data from multiple ERP/enterprise sources.
• Familiar with APIs, REST, security, governance, and production support.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, development, and modernization of scalable data platforms.
• Define and execute a multi-year data engineering strategy for scalability and maintainability.
• Design and build Azure-based data solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake, ADF, and CI/CD.
• Harmonise data across ERP systems into common data models.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data products.
• Establish engineering standards and conduct architecture reviews; mentor engineers.
• Identify AI-enabled approaches to improve development and data quality.
• Evaluate tools and platforms to improve performance, security, and governance.
• Support development of internal data products, APIs, and analyst-facing apps.
• Present recommendations and roadmap priorities to leadership.
