Job summary

Procore is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Data Platform to lead the team responsible for streaming and Databricks lakehouse foundations powering data across the company. Partner with data engineering, analytics, platform, and security teams to design, operate, and improve scalable, secure data infrastructure.

You will define the technical strategy, drive roadmaps, and ensure reliability and performance of pipelines.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in people management, leading and developing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka and AWS MSK, and lakehouse platforms such as Databricks.
• Demonstrated experience operating mission-critical data infrastructure in production, including ownership of availability, performance, and on-call practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of data engineers responsible for streaming infrastructure (Kafka/MSK), and the Databricks lakehouse.
• Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for the data platform in alignment with company data and analytics goals.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of streaming pipelines and lakehouse infrastructure that support critical business and product functions.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to maintain data protection, access controls, and regulatory compliance across the platform.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and product stakeholders to understand data needs and prioritize platform investments accordingly.
• Manage platform costs and drive efficiency initiatives across streaming and lakehouse infrastructure.
• Mentor and develop engineers on the team, building a strong culture of technical excellence and ownership.
