Job summary

VIA seeks a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design and run scalable data infrastructure in a cloud environment. You’ll build secure storage, streaming and batch pipelines, and ensure reliability with strong observability.

This role partners with product, DevOps, and data teams to push AI-enabled, data-driven decision making. You’ll work across Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD, contributing to governance and operational excellence while supporting AI model deployment and multi-tenant

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a data-driven role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Strong Python scripting and automation.
• Experience architecting scalable SQL/NoSQL schemas.
• Expertise in query tuning and performance optimization.
• Hands-on with AWS or Azure and IaC (Terraform/Helm).
• Kubernetes, Docker, and container observability experience.
• Experience with Dagster or Airflow.
• Understanding of data infra within large apps.
• Git, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, provision, and secure data infrastructure.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain data pipelines.
• Build monitoring and alerting for data health.
• Collaborate with application teams on queries and pipelines.
• Promote data governance and best practices.
• Operationalize AI models (MLOps) and containerization.
