Job summary
R1 RCM Inc. in New York seeks a Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform (HL7/FHIR) to shape Phare OS data workflows and global healthcare integration. You’ll partner with product and engineering leaders to define roadmaps and estimate epics.
This role requires 10+ years in software or data engineering, 5+ in leadership, and deep experience with Spark, Python, Scala, Databricks, HL7/FHIR, and cloud platforms. Mentoring juniors and advancing engineering best practices are key.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of software or data engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership.
- Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, Epic, and healthcare tech environments.
- Expertise across Spark, Python, Scala, Databricks, and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
- Participate in roadmap definition with senior product and engineering leaders.
- Shape strategic technology directions and implementation approaches.
- Mentor junior developers and promote best practices for maintainable, testable code.
- Estimate epics, features, and stories with product management.
- Maintain automated build steps, CI/CD, and staging environments.
