Job summary

VIA is hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer to unify data engineering with DevOps, focusing on secure cloud data infrastructure, real-time and batch pipelines, and robust observability. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to scale and govern data while enabling AI-driven decision-making.

You’ll design multi-tenant data schemas, deploy IaC, and champion CI/CD across the platform, ensuring reliability and performance in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a data-driven role
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, mathematics, engineering, or data-driven field
• Strong Python scripting and automation
• Proven experience architecting relational & NoSQL schemas
• Expertise in performance, indexing, and query tuning
• Experience with AWS/Azure data services and IaC
• Hands-on with Kubernetes & container observability
• Experience with Dagster or Airflow for data orchestration
• Understanding of systems thinking and integration with apps
• Proven CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code deployments

Responsibilities

• Architect and provision secure data infrastructure using IaC
• Develop, deploy, and maintain data pipelines (real-time and batch)
• Build monitoring/alerting for data health and performance
• Troubleshoot database queries, pipelines, and data issues
• Drive data governance, health, and security best practices
• Operationalize AI models; manage versioning, containerization, deployment
