Job summary

Movable Ink is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Data Platform to design and operate scalable data ingestion, processing, and exposure layers for a multi-tenant, governed data platform. You will work with analytics, ML, and infra teams to deliver reliable pipelines, storage, and measurable SLIs/SLOs.

You will drive legacy migration to modern architectures, enable cross-client data sharing with strong security controls, and contribute to data discovery via semantic metadata and contract-based

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of data governance, lifecycle, quality, retention, access control.
• Hands-on with data warehouses (Databricks, Redshift, ClickHouse) at production scale.
• Strong SQL skills and query optimization.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS/GCP) in multi-cloud deployments.
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to design interfaces and migration strategies for legacy systems.
• Excellent communicator for cross-team design discussions.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of data ingestion pipeline and infrastructure.
• Assist in migration of legacy data lifecycle management to new platform without disrupting data consumers.
• Establish and maintain SLIs and SLOs for new ingestion and data platform with dashboards and alerting.
• Build flexible data storage layer for transactional, analytic, and ML workloads.
• Implement monitoring, observability, and incident response for all pipelines/services.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and ML teams to define contracts and standards.
• Design and implement semantic metadata layer to classify data assets and enable discovery.
