Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and scale cloud-native data platforms powering real-time analytics and BI. You will architect reliable AWS-based infrastructure (Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, S3, Snowflake), optimize performance, and ensure security and cost efficiency while collaborating with data, engineering, and product teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to design standards, and implement IaC and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cloud based Data Infrastructure, Database Engineering, or related roles.
• Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience with AWS Data Services (Aurora, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, Athena etc.).
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL/Aurora and Snowflake or similar modern data platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting or programming languages (Python, Shell, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience using Terraform and GitLab to build and operate CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure automation.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing database performance and operating high‑throughput data systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure on AWS using technologies such as Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, S3, and Snowflake.
• Implement and operate core data systems across ingestion, transformation, storage, and orchestration layers.
• Ensure high levels of reliability, performance, availability, and cost efficiency of data platforms and environments.
• Apply and promote best practices in data modeling, observability, infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD automation.
• Support and scale distributed data systems (e.g., PostgreSQL/Aurora, Snowflake, Kafka, caching) across environments.
• Partner with application, analytics, and AI teams to enable efficient and self-service data access and usage.
• Participate in design reviews, contribute to technical standards, and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvements in data platform operations.
• Support operational excellence by participating in on-call rotations and off-hours incident response when required.
