Job summary

Expedia Group’s Data Platform team is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to advance our central data processing platform. You will build core data processing and AI capabilities, improving reliability and performance for analyses and ML workflows powering traveler experiences.

You will design services, APIs, and data models, work with cross-functional teams, and own features through the full software lifecycle while contributing to operational excellence and AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Professional software development experience in at least one modern language (Java, C#, Kotlin, Scala, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience designing APIs, data models, and low-level system designs for production environments.
• Experience owning services or features through the SDLC, including deployment and support.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software services and components (LLD, API design, data modeling).
• Collaborate with product and design to break down requirements and deliver features across domains.
• Write clean, reliable code with unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues in production and non-production environments with monitoring and incident response.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions in real-world products.
• Adapt to new technologies and contribute across services or components as needed.
