Job summary

Expedia Group in Austin is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Data Processing team within the Data Platform. You will design, build, and maintain high‑quality software services and data pipelines that turn large volumes of data into fast, reliable analytics and ML-powered insights.

You will collaborate with product and design, own APIs and data models, write tests, and contribute to reliability and performance at scale.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Professional software development experience across OO/functional programming, version control, and debugging in at least one modern language (Java, C#, Kotlin, Scala, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience designing APIs, data models, and low-level system designs for production services.
• Experience owning services through the full SDLC including deployment and support.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software services and components (LLD, API design, data modeling).
• Collaborate with product and design to break down requirements and deliver features.
• Write clean, reliable code with unit/integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve production and non-production issues, and improve operations.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions within services.
