Job summary

University of Central Florida IT department seeks a Data Engineer IV, Data Platforms to lead and design the enterprise data and AI platforms, including Microsoft Fabric and Copilot integrations. You will mentor the Data Platforms team and set standards for data governance and tooling, collaborating with campus stakeholders.

You will modernize reporting systems, build semantic models and certified datasets, and ensure scalable, secure data pipelines with quality controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma and 9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, IS, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise data platforms, esp. Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Microsoft Fabric and Azure data platform solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Lead modernization of legacy reporting systems and data stores to the enterprise data platform.
• Develop and maintain enterprise data models, semantic models, and certified datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, dataflows, notebooks, and integrations with orchestration, monitoring, and data quality processes.
• Administer AI platforms (Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini), including configuration, licensing, data access, security, and usage monitoring.
• Implement data and AI standards, policies, and governance in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing; stay current with data/AI tech.
• The role may include other duties as assigned.
