Syracuse University is seeking an AI Data Engineer to accelerate data pipelines and analytics using Microsoft Fabric. This on-campus role supports AI/analytics initiatives across the university, ensuring data quality, compliance, and scalable solutions for campus-wide data assets.

You will join the Enterprise Data & AI team, collaborate with stakeholders, mentor teammates, and help deploy AI/ML platforms while aligning with ISF, FERPA, and privacy standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, AI/ML integration, or enterprise IT.
• Experience in a higher education IT environment preferred.

Aufgaben

• Data Engineering & Pipeline Development: Design scalable pipelines ingesting data from ERP, LMS, and APIs for AI/analytics.
• Integration & Platform Support: Build connectors, workflows, APIs to unify data across cloud and on-premises.
• Governance, Security & Compliance: Maintain metadata, lineage, and documentation; ensure regulatory adherence.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Translate requirements; present to campus stakeholders and leadership.
• Innovation & Mentorship: Mentor peers; plan for MCP, serverless, and generative AI adoption.
