DRW is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Data Platform in Chicago. This individual contributor role blends strategic architecture with hands-on delivery, focusing on scalable data infrastructure used by Traders, Researchers, and Back-Office teams.

You will drive platform vision, guide multic-team initiatives, and mentor engineers while delivering critical data services, governance, and reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading large-scale data systems.
• Ability to translate data strategy into product roadmaps.
• Experience with batch and streaming processing.
• Proven mentoring and cross-team collaboration.
• Strong SQL, Python/Java, and Linux proficiency.
• Familiarity with data governance and cataloging.

Responsabilités

• Define vision for DRW’s Data Platform and evolve architecture.
• Collaborate with leads to translate data strategy into products.
• Design and manage platform services for storage, query, and processing.
• Lead cross-team delivery and convert ambiguity into actionable designs.
• Drive architecture reviews and document trade-offs.
• Own data governance strategy including metadata and lineage.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems and improve operations.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and hands-on guidance.
