Job summary

Sandisk seeks a hands-on Senior Staff Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and modernization of its enterprise data platform. You will own data governance, lakehouse architecture, and end‑to‑end pipelines spanning cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will build Databricks Lakehouse platforms using Delta Lake and Iceberg, design modern ELT/ETL pipelines, and drive data ingestion from ERP, CRM, IoT, and external APIs. A strong emphasis on governance, metadata, and security guides decisions.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of hands-on experience in data architecture, engineering, and analytics delivery.
• Proven success building modern data platforms on cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep knowledge of data lakehouse architectures (Databricks, Fabric).
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, Spark, and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, Fivetran) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong background in data modeling (ERD, star/snowflake, canonical models).
• Demonstrated familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, and event-driven design.
• Experience integrating AI/ML and GenAI components into data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the target data architecture across the stack including governance and lakehouse in cloud/on‑prem environments.
• Translate business goals into scalable platform designs and maintain architectural roadmaps.
• Bridge between architects, data engineers, and analytics teams for alignment with standards and SOX compliance.
• Build and maintain Databricks Lakehouse platforms using Delta Lake, Iceberg, or equivalent technologies.
• Design and implement modern ELT/ETL pipelines using Spark, Python, SQL, Scala, and cloud-native components.
• Lead data ingestion from ERP, CRM, IoT, and third‑party APIs.
• Implement data governance with lineage, metadata management, and access controls.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with DevOps to embed CI/CD across the data lifecycle.
