Fivetran in Oakland is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our core data-pipeline team. You will design, build, and optimize scalable data movement components that power reliable analytics for customers.

The role emphasizes distributed systems, code quality, and collaboration across product, security, and customer teams in a hybrid setup with two days in the Oakland office each week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software industry experience with backend focus.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems.
• Ability to lead software design to meet requirements.
• Proficient in code reviews, troubleshooting and testing.
• Strong problem solving with well-structured, performant code.
• Experience with cloud technologies and CI pipelines.
• Proficiency in Java/C++/C# or similar OO languages.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and features.
• Develop, maintain, and test backend code for reliability.
• Conduct design and code reviews with peers.
