Job summary

Fivetran’s Oakland team is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support our People organization, turning complex people data into insights that guide recruitment, workforce planning, and employee development.

You will partner with People, Recruiting, and Finance to build scalable analytics products, define core metrics, and deliver clear narratives, while upholding data governance and privacy standards. This is a hybrid role based in Oakland or NYC with flexible in-person collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics, data science, BI, or related analytical role.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling across large datasets.
• Experience with Looker, Tableau, Sigma or similar BI tools.
• Strong ability to translate analyses into actionable recommendations for diverse audiences.
• High attention to data quality, governance, privacy, and reproducibility.
• Mentor analysts and contribute to analytics culture.

Responsibilities

• Define and own core People metrics (headcount, hiring, retention, org health, employee experience, talent development).
• Build scalable analytical products with canonical datasets, models, and self-service dashboards.
• Translate analyses into narratives and recommendations for stakeholders; collaborate with Engineers to improve HRIS/ATS connectors.
• Establish governance and data quality practices; ensure appropriate access and privacy.
• Turn people data into decisions; identify trends and opportunities for People leaders.
• Shape analytics culture and mentor analysts to improve data fluency.
