Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design, implement, and document complex data architectures across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL stores to support BI, ML, and data science initiatives.

You will build conceptual, logical, and physical models, lead data architecture discussions, and mentor other modelers while aligning with enterprise standards. This Hybrid-Flex role supports remote work with in-person collaboration, focused on Snowflake analytics in a healthcare context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required where stated.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Creates fully attributed conceptual, logical and physical models using ER and Dimensional modeling techniques.
• Analyzes data to verify business requirements and design the data models.
• Participates in project architectural groups to govern data assets and storage across stores.
• Genders first cut physical model DDL and SQL for views for DBA implementation.
• Creates and updates the data dictionary with governance coordination.
• Facilitates model reviews and defines data modeling standards and guidelines.
• Designs Snowflake Silver and Gold analytical layers for trusted analytics.
• Mentors other data modelers and drives process improvements.
