Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design, implement, and document complex data models across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL stores to support enterprise data management and analytics.

The role involves leading modeling efforts, mentoring peers, and shaping Snowflake data architecture, governance, and standards for trusted health care insights across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling: Creates fully attributed and documented conceptual, logical and physical models using ER and Dimensional modeling techniques.
• Requirement Analysis: Analyzes data to verify business requirements and design the data models.
• Data Architecture: Participates in architectural working groups to provide expertise in modeling and data asset governance.
• Standard Query Language: Generates first cut physical model DDL and SQL for views for DBA implementation.
• Documentation: Creates, validates, and updates the data dictionary with data governance.
• Standards & Process: Facilitates model review sessions and enforces modeling standards.
• Data Modeling on Snowflake: Designs Silver and Gold analytical layers for trusted analytics.
• Leading and mentoring: Provides expertise to other modelers and drives process improvements.
