Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design and implement complex data architecture, including relational, dimensional, and NoSQL models. You will work across BI, ML, and data science initiatives, and lead data modeling standards while mentoring other modelers.

The role involves Snowflake-based architecture, governance, and collaboration with data governance teams. A healthcare background is preferred, with strong SQL, DDL, and data dictionary skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required or 7+ years experience in related field in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience in data modeling/architecture.
• Experience leading data modeling efforts in healthcare or payer domains preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and documents complex data architecture and models.
• Analyze data to verify business requirements and design data models.
• Participate in architectural working groups to govern data assets and storage.
• Produce DDL and SQL for views for DBA implementation.
• Maintain and update data dictionaries with governance teams.
• Lead and mentor other data modelers and drive process improvements.
• Design Snowflake-based Silver and Gold analytical layers for trusted analytics.
