Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design, implement, and document complex data architectures, including relational, dimensional, and NoSQL stores, to support enterprise data management, BI, ML, and data science initiatives.

You will lead data modeling efforts, mentor peers, and collaborate with governance teams to ensure scalable, compliant data assets across Snowflake and other stores, with a focus on healthcare data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling: Creates fully attributed and documented conceptual, logical and physical models using ER and Dimensional modeling techniques.
• Requirement Analysis: Analyzes data to verify business requirements and design the data models.
• Data Architecture: Participates in project specific architectural working groups to provide expertise in modeling and data management across stores.
• Standard Query Language: Generates first cut physical model DDL and SQL for views for implementation by the DBA.
• Documentation: Creates, validates, and updates the data dictionary in coordination with governance.
