Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design, implement, and document complex data architectures including relational, dimensional, and NoSQL stores. This role supports enterprise data platforms for BI, ML, and data science across the payer industry.

You will lead modeling efforts, mentor junior modelers, and contribute to Snowflake analytics layers (Silver/Gold) while collaborating with data governance and architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Creates conceptual, logical and physical data models using ER and Dimensional modeling techniques.
• Analyzes data to verify business requirements and design data models.
• Governs data assets across data stores and documents data flows and security requirements.
• Generates DDL and SQL for views for DBA implementation.
• Maintains data dictionary with data governance and business stakeholders.
• Develops data modeling standards and guidelines for data stores.
• Designs Snowflake Silver and Gold layers for analytics across departments.
• Mentors other data modelers and drives process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor data modeling efforts within enterprise data warehousing.
• Collaborate with arch groups to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
