Job summary

You will own complex data initiatives, mentor engineers, and shape the standards for data modeling and pipeline validation. This hybrid Oakland, CA role emphasizes leadership and hands-on delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or analytics engineering.
• Expert SQL proficiency for complex transformations and large-scale reconciliation.
• Strong programming experience in Python or TypeScript for data pipelines.
• Experience designing data models and end-to-end data movement architectures.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own canonical data models for marketing, sales, billing, and product ops integrations.
• Define team-wide standards for data modeling, quality, testing, governance, and documentation.
• Design integration architecture with guidance on batch, real-time, and event-driven data movement.
• Lead design and execution of complex data initiatives, migrations, and re-platforming of core integrations.
• Build and review SQL and Python pipelines; ensure code quality and scalability.
• Design validation and reconciliation approaches for migrations and pipeline changes.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and develop data modeling and testing practices.
