Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer, Data and Integrations, to own canonical data models and data movement across marketing, sales, billing, and product operations. The role partners with Systems, Analytics, and Engineering teams to lead complex migrations, re-platforming, and data quality initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, set data standards, and shape the future of our data infrastructure in a cross-functional environment based in Oakland, CA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering with leadership focus.
• Expert SQL proficiency, including complex transformations and large-scale reconciliation.
• Strong Python or TypeScript experience for production-grade pipelines.
• Hands-on with data models for Salesforce, NetSuite, Coupa, Workday, Zendesk.
• Experience delivering large-scale ETL/ELT solutions and governance.
• Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term data health.

Responsibilities

• Own canonical data models for marketing, sales, billing, and product ops integrations.
• Define team-wide standards for data modeling, quality, testing, governance, and documentation.
• Contribute to integration architecture, guiding batch, real-time, and event-driven movement.
• Lead the design and execution of complex data initiatives from design through cutover.
• Build, review, and ship SQL and Python transformations behind initiatives.
• Design validation and reconciliation for migrations and pipeline changes.
