Job summary

State Street Corporation is seeking a Business Analyst – Data Integration and ETL to support data integration and ETL capabilities for financial data workflows. The role works with Product Owner, stakeholders, and engineering to define requirements, map sources to targets, and document acceptance criteria.

Familiarity with Pentaho Kettle, Talend, and SQL is essential. Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in business analysis within financial services or data integration, strong documentation

Qualifications

• 4+ years of business analysis experience within financial technology, investment management, or data integration environments.
• Strong SQL knowledge to analyze queries, joins, and data validation.
• Experience documenting source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and specs.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery teams and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for data integration and ETL workflows.
• Work with the Product Owner to prioritize scope and support ETL design decisions.
• Support data flows including inbound/outbound transformations, validations, and downstream consumption.
• Produce BRDs, functional specs, mappings, transformation rules, user stories, and test criteria.
• Collaborate with engineering using Pentaho Kettle, Talend, and SQL to translate needs into design details.
• Analyze current ETL workflows, identify gaps, and define practical improvements for reliability and supportability.
• Participate in design discussions for existing and new ETL workflows for investment management processes.
• Partner with QA to define test scenarios, data validation approaches, and end-to-end test coverage.
• Assist implementation and operations teams in troubleshooting data integration issues and root-cause analysis.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and usable by Product Owners, engineering, QA, and support teams.
• Communicate scope, risks, dependencies, decisions, and delivery progress to stakeholders.
