Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Director, Data Integration Engineer in Medical Affairs to design, build, and operate the data pipelines and integration layer that connect AI-enabled solutions to enterprise data sources and analytic platforms.

This hands-on role partners with Solution Architecture and Product Management to ensure governed data, scalable integration patterns (RAG/vector databases), and timely data delivery for AI projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on data engineering or application integration experience with data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills and ETL/ELT development experience.
• Experience with Snowflake or equivalent data platforms and API-based data access.
• API design and integration patterns (REST/GraphQL) for backend data sources.
• Experience with AI/ML data access patterns (RAG, vector databases).
• Familiarity with data governance and data cataloging practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to work in a matrixed team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines and integration patterns connecting core enterprise systems to Medical Affairs' AI platforms.
• Build and maintain targeted pipelines extracting, transforming, and serving data for each AI solution.
• Monitor data pipeline latency to meet timeliness thresholds.
• Partner to implement data integration patterns supporting RAG pipelines, vector databases, GraphRAG.
• Ensure data feeding AI systems is well-governed and monitored for quality.
• Apply automation to accelerate data delivery and enable context-aware models.
