Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to help automate data management for IC data custodians, enabling secure data capture and reuse across mission spaces. You will devise strategies to extract meaning from structured and unstructured data and present insights with compelling narratives.

You will collaborate with customer teams, apply Python/Scala analytics, and work with big data tools (Pig, MapReduce, Spark) and data visualization platforms to deliver story-like datasets.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
• Twenty (20) years SWE experience in similar scope projects.
• Minimum of 6 recent years of development experience.
• Technical lead experience on multiple software teams.
• Ability to select software development processes with customers.
• Ensure quality control of software and lead testing efforts.
• Develop simple data queries for databases or data repos.

Responsibilities

• Devise strategies to extract meaning and value from structured and unstructured data.
• Leverage statistical methods and ML to discover patterns.
• Use query/visualization tools like DataXplorer to present datasets as stories.
• Collaborate with customer teams to understand mission needs.
• Familiar with data enrichment/conversion, data ontologies, and XML/CSV/JSON.
• Experience with Java and NIFI is highly desired.
