Job summary

Peraton seeks a Software Engineer to support a suite of web-based applications enabling secure data management for the IC. You will extract meaning from structured and unstructured data, apply ML techniques, and present results using DataXplorer and GMAE.

Expect collaboration across teams and significant responsibility with several large scale data initiatives, including cloud engagements. You will work with Java, data analytics, and NIFI; a strong background in big data and data schemas

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.
• Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs/contracts of similar scope is required; Bachelor’s degree may substitute with 4 years.
• Minimum of 6 recent years of development experience.
• Recommend new technologies and serve as technical lead of multiple software teams.
• Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering.
• Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
• Delegate programming and testing responsibilities and monitor performance.
• Develop simple data queries for existing databases or data repositories.

Responsibilities

• Devise strategies to extract meaning and value from structured and unstructured data.
• Leverage statistical methods and ML to discover patterns and behaviors of entities.
• Use query and visualization tools (DataXplorer, GMAE) to present datasets in a story-like manner.
• Develop methodologies for automated data characterization across domains.
• Analyze requirements to support ingestion of new data types.
• Collaborate with customer teams to understand mission needs and requirements.
• Knowledge of data enrichment/conversion methods; familiarity with data ontologies/schemas; strong data types (XML, CSV, JSON) and database experience.
• Java development experience and working knowledge of NIFI are highly desired.
