Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Data Scientist to apply advanced data science, ML, and analytics to mission-critical national security challenges. You will transform complex data into actionable insights and collaborate with engineers, SMEs, and leadership to productionize algorithms.

This role blends hands-on development, applied research, experimentation, and customer engagement, with opportunities to influence emerging AI/ML capabilities and scalable analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field with 5+ years of analytics experience.
• Substitution: 4 years of experience can replace a Bachelor’s degree; PhD replaces 4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operationalize advanced analytics and ML algorithms to solve mission-critical challenges.
• Conduct applied research and experimentation; evaluate technologies and select solutions based on performance and data availability.
• Transform data into actionable insights; create models and visualizations for customers and stakeholders.
• Automate analytics and integrate prototype algorithms into production systems and workflows.
• Drive collaboration with SMEs and analysts; communicate findings to diverse audiences.
• Advance mission capabilities by staying aware of emerging AI/ML technologies and scalable solutions.
