TRM Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Platform team in San Francisco to own the relational data infrastructure at petabyte scale. You will design, build, and operate scalable Postgres-based systems, balancing query performance with cost, availability, and reliability in production.

You will collaborate across product engineering to optimize data models, implement automation, and drive AI-enabled improvements.

Qualifikationen

• 5–8 years building and operating production PostgreSQL (Citus, Aurora, AlloyDB, or equivalent distributed Postgres).
• Deep SQL optimization skills (Explain Plans, CTEs, window functions, partitioning, index design).
• Hands-on experience with CDC tools (PeerDB, Fivetran, Debezium, Datastream, Airbyte).
• Profiling databases with tools like pganalyze and using AI to summarize performance findings.

Aufgaben

• Keep customer-facing APIs fast and available at five-nines through query tuning and schema optimization.
• Reduce storage and compute costs using AI-assisted analysis and validated production changes.
• Automate routine database operations to remove toil and enable self-serve provisioning.
• Validate database changes with AI-assisted checks before production deployment.
• Manage CDC pipelines (PeerDB, Fivetran, Debezium, Debezium) and debug replication failures with AI tooling.
• Migrate workloads off old infrastructure and prototype new AI-accelerated data stores.
