Job summary

TRM Labs is seeking a Software Engineer for the Data Platform team to build mission-critical data services that analyze blockchain activity at petabyte scale. You will design scalable data models and ETL pipelines, and ensure high availability across large database clusters.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in distributed systems and strong Python skills, with experience in Iceberg, Trino, BigQuery, and streaming technologies like Kafka and Spark.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in architecting distributed system architecture and production deployments.
• Strong programming skills in Python; proficient in SQL or SparkSQL.
• Experience with data stores/engines like Iceberg, Trino, BigQuery, StarRocks, and Citus.
• Proficiency with Airflow, DBT, and streaming (Spark, Kafka, Flink).
• Experience deploying and monitoring infra in public clouds with Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, Datadog.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable data services to integrate multiple blockchains.
• Develop ETL pipelines handling petabytes of data in real-time.
• Design data models for low-latency queries on blockchain data.
• Oversee deployment and monitoring of large database clusters for performance and availability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, backend engineers, and product managers on data models.
