Job summary

Day & Zimmermann, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Data Governance to elevate the enterprise data governance program, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency across business systems.

You will work with Business Data Owners and IT teams, applying SQL to profile data, validate rules, and support MDM initiatives. You will develop governance metrics and dashboards in Power BI, drive root-cause analyses, automate validation rules, and help shape a data-centric culture while enabling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of five years of progressive experience in Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Data Analysis, MDM, BI, ERP applications, or Data Engineering.
• A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Information Management, or Business Analytics is preferred and considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Data Owners and Data Stewards to define and enforce data governance standards, stewardship roles, and ownership models across the enterprise.
• Conduct advanced data profiling and quality assessments with SQL and reporting systems, identify anomalies, and track governance KPIs.
• Design and sustain interactive data quality dashboards and scorecards using Power BI or equivalent platforms for real-time insights.
• Perform root cause analysis of data quality issues, coordinate remediation with stakeholders, and validate actions with data-driven approaches.
• Recommend and implement process automation, enhanced validation rules, and governance controls for long-term accuracy and consistency.
• Manage governance for high-value master data domains (Customer, Vendor, Employee, Material, Project, Asset, Organizational).
• Maintain business glossaries, metadata repositories, CDEs, and data lineage models to support transparency and accountability.
• Generate governance reports and executive presentations to illustrate data quality trends and program maturity.
