Abbott Laboratories Milwaukee area is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering within the Abbott Cancer Diagnostics division. The role leads the data engineering organization, shapes strategy, and drives a cohesive roadmap with cross-functional partners to deliver governed data products and integrations supporting analytics, ML, and AI across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or a high school diploma and four years of relevant experience.
• Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering, data platforms, technology delivery, or related leadership roles.
• Five or more years of direct people-leadership experience, including management of engineering staff.
• Experience owning delivery and operating performance for a data domain, from planning through production support.
• Experience leading delivery across direct reports, contractors, and matrixed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and retain a domain data engineering organization with staff engineers and contractors.
• Own the domain data engineering strategy, roadmap, and delivery commitments.
• Resolve technical decisions and manage tradeoffs affecting data architecture and platform decisions.
• Ensure data products meet quality, security, privacy, observability, governance, and lifecycle requirements.
• Build relationships with senior business and technology leaders and represent the domain in governance decisions.
