Job summary

Headway, a leading mental health tech company in Seattle, seeks a Senior Manager, Data Engineering to define and drive the data infrastructure strategy. You will lead a growing team, own the data platform architecture, and partner with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Engineering to deliver reliable insights at scale.

You will shape end-to-end data pipelines, ensure observability, and raise data quality standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in data engineering or related roles.
• 3+ years experience managing and developing teams.
• Experience building and scaling data platforms in a high-growth, cloud-native environment.
• Proven success partnering cross-functionally with Data Science, Analytics, and Product Engineering.
• Deep expertise in data warehouse design, pipeline architecture, and transformation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the technical strategy for Headway's data infrastructure.
• Grow and mentor a high-performing Data Engineer team.
• Own architecture and reliability of the data platform (warehouse, ingestion, dbt, orchestration).
• Set engineering standards for data modeling, observability, SLA, and data quality.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Product and Engineering on data needs.
• Identify gaps early and surface platform capability improvements.
• Translate data decisions into actionable executive recommendations.
