Job summary

Cox Enterprises is seeking a Sr Manager, Data Engineering to lead a cross-functional team responsible for data strategy, Snowflake operations, ETL development, and advanced analytics across the organization. This role focuses on building scalable data platforms and AI/ML initiatives that drive business impact.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Live within commutable distance to Atlanta, GA and able to commute to Midtown office several times a week.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, mathematics, or related field with 8+ years of experience and 3+ years in a leadership role; or Master’s with 6+ years; or PhD with 3+ years; or 12+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Ideal candidate has 6+ years as an individual contributor in Data Engineering and 2+ years in people management.
• Proven track record managing Snowflake environments, ETL pipelines, and data engineering teams.
• Extensive experience designing and maintaining scalable data warehouses and architectures.
• Strong SQL and Python; familiarity with data science libraries; REST APIs.
• Experience with web analytics tools and integrating them into data ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering, data science, and analytics teams to shape data strategy.
• Oversee Snowflake configuration, ETL pipelines, data ingestion, and data governance.
• Drive development of data warehousing, dashboards, and self-service analytics.
• Oversee AI/ML initiatives, including genAI applications and personalization engines.
• Collaborate with Product, Editorial, Engineering, and Business teams to define success metrics and deliver scalable data solutions.
• Mentor team members and promote data-driven decision making across the organization.
