Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Sr. Data Engineer & Solution Architect to lead cloud-native data lakehouse designs for Operations Data. You will architect scalable pipelines using AWS Glue, S3, EMR, Lambda and Redshift, driving data product thinking and governance across Supply Chain domains.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver trusted analytics, dashboards and AI-ready data products, while mentoring a high-performing engineering team in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of data architecture/engineering experience; Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 2 years.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (Glue, S3, EMR) and related ingestion/transformation tools like Informatica.
• Experience with Apache Iceberg or similar lakehouse technologies.
• Proficiency with AWS Redshift or equivalent modern data warehousing platforms.
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture and data mesh concepts.
• Familiarity with SAP/planning data flows and ERP data structures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and oversee legacy ETL and cloud-native data ingestion frameworks and end-to-end pipelines using AWS services and tools like Informatica.
• Architect data needs for Operations Supply Chain analytics using Apache Iceberg and Medallion Architecture to ensure data quality and lineage.
• Build and maintain AWS Redshift data warehouse solutions for Supply Chain analytics and data products.
• Promote Data Product-centric architecture and data mesh, establishing standards for data product design and ownership.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain BTS to model data flows from SAP and planning systems; translate ERP data into analytics-ready data products.
• Lead and mentor the data engineering team, driving delivery and engineering excellence.
