Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer in Tennessee to design and manage scalable data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven modes. You will work with Snowflake, dbt, and cloud tools to optimize data movement and enable AI-ready data products.

You will mentor a data engineer, guide analytics teams, and help implement CI/CD practices, semantic layers, and governance across cross-functional squads. This role blends hands-on coding with leadership in a dynamic data environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field.
• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud).
• Experience with semantic layers and structuring data for AI/NLP or search capabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Supports Snowflake platform performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 NL interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, templates, and CI/CD practices enabling decentralized teams to build data products safely.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, with potential for team growth.
• Drives adoption of dbt for data transformation and evaluates AWS/Azure data tools to optimize data flow.
