Job summary

Sedgwick seeks a Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement. You will be a core Snowflake developer, optimize performance, and support data modeling and storage structures.

You will architect transformation pipelines for high‑quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features, maintain semantic layers, and promote CI/CD practices for cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing experience required.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud) with batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with semantic layers and structuring data for AI, LLM, or NLP capabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement.
• Serves as core developer for Snowflake data platform, supporting performance and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 natural-language interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD best practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives dbt adoption and evaluates AWS/Azure tools to optimize data flow.
