Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in the United States to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement. You will serve as a core Snowflake data platform developer, focusing on performance, data modeling, and secure data sharing.

You will architect transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data to Snowflake and dbt AI features, and design semantic layers to support Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-premises to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers for downstream AI, LLM, or natural-language search capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement.
• Core developer for Snowflake data platform; supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt for data transformation and evaluates integration of AWS/Azure data tools to optimize flow.
