Job summary

CMG Financial is relocating its reporting and analytics to a Snowflake-based Enterprise Data Warehouse, building ingestion, transformation and governance on a secure, scalable platform.

As a Senior Data Engineer you will own end-to-end pipelines from source to consumer, implement access controls, and collaborate with security, compliance and BI teams to enable trusted data for Servicing, Lending and Marketing users.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering with production pipelines on cloud data warehouses
• Expert SQL and strong Python for pipeline code with tests
• Hands-on dbt experience in production: modeling, testing, CI, environments
• Experience with modern orchestrators (Dagster, Airflow or Prefect) and managed ingestion/CDC
• Infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps)
• Snowflake security depth: RBAC, masking, row-access policies, tags and service auth
• Working knowledge of SQL Server as a source system (CDC/Change Tracking)
• Experience handling regulated data with auditable controls
• Clear written communication: specs, PR descriptions, incident notes

Responsibilities

• Ingestion from on-prem SQL Server and SaaS sources into Snowflake using Fivetran, CDC and ADF
• Develop and maintain Dagster assets, schedules, sensors and checks; migrate legacy jobs
• Write and review dbt models, tests, seeds and snapshots for Raw/Bronze/Silver layers
• Manage Snowflake as code via Pulumi & Terraform; deployments through GitHub Actions
• Implement role-based access, data masking and just-in-time elevation with auditable approvals
• Build freshness, volume and schema checks, alerting and runbooks to prevent silos
• Contribute to ADRs, PRs, and maintain a disciplined review process
• Collaborate with Servicing, Lending, Marketing data owners and BI teams during migration
• Mentor engineers on testing, automation and documentation
