Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data flows. You will serve as a core Snowflake developer, shaping data models, storage structures, and performance tuning.

You will architect semantic layers, CI/CD templates, and reference architectures enabling decentralized teams to build data products with governance and safety. Strong leadership and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of dedicated data engineering experience.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture, tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid on-prem to cloud environments.
• Experience building/maintaining semantic layers for AI or NLP capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Data Eng or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Core developer for Snowflake data platform, supporting performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD best practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and career mentorship to one data engineer, guiding analysts.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates integration of AWS/Azure cloud data tools to optimize data flow.
