Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Sr. Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven data movement. You will work as a core Snowflake developer, optimizing performance, modeling, and storage structures for complex data sets.

You will architect semantic layers for AI-ready data and help establish reusable templates, CI/CD, and governance across cross-functional teams. Mentorship of a fellow data engineer will be part of the role.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of dedicated data engineering experience.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture and tuning.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on‑prem to cloud).
• Experience with semantic layers for AI/NLP use cases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement.
• Core developer for Snowflake data platform; supports performance, modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Mentors one data engineer and guides analytics teams in engineering practices.
• Evaluates dbt adoption and cloud tools to optimize data flow.
