Job summary

SiriusXM is hiring a Senior Staff Data Engineer to build and own backend data products, pipelines, and reporting systems at scale. You will design data platforms across AdsWizz and SXM Media, collaborating with multiple teams and mentoring engineers.

The role requires 12+ years in software engineering (Python/Java), 7+ years in data pipelines with Spark/BigQuery, and strong cloud & API experience. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in Python or Java.
• 7+ years designing, building, and managing data pipelines with Spark, BigQuery, AWS EMR, and GCP.
• 7+ years of REST API-based microservices development across cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Strong observability experience (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka or similar streaming tech.
• Collaborative, independent and able to mentor junior engineers.
• Legal right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance data pipelines and reporting APIs.
• Lead architecture discussions for ad measurement, revenue, and addressability data.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams in a product-driven environment.
• Partner with Product to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Drive projects with clarity, ownership, and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Global Operations and Cloud teams for deployments and incident support.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
