Job summary

SiriusXM is seeking a Senior Staff Data Engineer to design and scale backend data products and reporting systems for AdsWizz and SXM Media. You will own data pipelines and APIs, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable analytics at scale.

Experience with Python/Java, Spark, cloud data warehouses, and modern observability and orchestration tools is essential for success in a fast-moving media environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in Python or Java.
• 7+ years designing, building, and managing data pipelines using Spark, BigQuery, AWS EMR, and GCP.
• 7+ years of experience crafting REST API based-microservices and scalable products on AWS.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Proficiency with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and streaming (Kafka).
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance reporting APIs and data pipelines.
• Lead architecture discussions for ad measurement, revenue, and addressability data.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to deliver data products at scale.
• Partner with Product to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive project ownership.
• Coordinate deployments with Cloud Infra and Incident Management teams.
