Job summary

SiriusXM is seeking a Senior Staff Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend data products and reporting systems at scale across AdsWizz and SXM Media services. This role demands strong leadership in architecture, collaboration with product and cloud teams, and mentoring of engineers.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in Python or Java.
• 7+ years designing, building, and managing data pipelines using Spark, BigQuery, AWS EMR, and GCP Cloud Analytics.
• 7+ years of experience crafting REST API based-microservices on cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience with Snowflake/BigQuery data warehouses.
• Proficiency with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and stream processing (Kafka, Flink, Pub/Sub).
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Math or a related field; US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance reporting APIs and data pipelines.
• Lead architecture discussions with ad measurement, revenue and addressability data.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams in a collaborative development process.
• Clarify project scope with the Product team and provide clear direction.
• Drive projects forward with ownership and focused execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and support production deployments and incident management.
