Job summary

Team Velocity Marketing is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale a data platform powering analytics, BI, ML, and customer-facing products. The role emphasizes reliable, high-performance data pipelines, modern architectures, and close partnership with Product, Engineering, BI, Data Science, and stakeholders.

The position is full-time and remote, with a preference for candidates in the Continental U.S. Eastern or Central time zones who can support 8:30 AM–5:30 PM Eastern hours.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
• Strong SQL skills with Snowflake experience.
• Strong Python and data engineering development practices.
• Experience designing and maintaining large-scale ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and distributed data architectures.
• Experience integrating structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources.
• Familiarity with data orchestration and transformation frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL workflows.
• Develop and optimize data models and enterprise data structures.
• Leverage Snowflake and cloud data platforms to ingest, transform, and optimize large datasets.
• Partner with BI and Data Science teams to deliver production-ready datasets.
• Design and implement data quality, validation, and monitoring processes.
• Support both batch and near real-time data integration requirements.
• Develop APIs and data services for internal and customer-facing apps.
• Optimize data pipeline performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Document data architectures, pipeline processes, and engineering standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and mentor team members.
