Job summary

SHI One, a team within SHI's Advanced Solutions Group, is building innovative digital experiences for internal users, customers and partners. The Senior Data Engineer will design and develop ETL workflows, data models, and data warehouses, collaborating with stakeholders to turn business needs into scalable solutions.

You'll lead by example, coach others, and help establish a new data engineering practice, focusing on developer experience, testing, and end-to-end data architecture across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms.
• Experience building highly available and testable ETL systems that support critical business operations.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and timelines with analytical thinking.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Excellent time-management and task-prioritization skills.
• Strong problem prevention and solution skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive our organizational data strategy, including data model designs and warehousing standards.
• Coach team members through code and design reviews to ensure quality integration.
• Maintain high-quality solutions and a strong standard of technical excellence.
• Coordinate with development teams, stakeholders, and customers for smooth data system operation.
• Extend and support a data engineering environment focused on developer experience and testing.
• Recommend improvements to existing data and ETL processes.
• Participate in end-to-end data architecture optimization, from technology choice to security and testing.
• Lead creation of technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Review data architecture best practices with team members.
